Striving to eat a more plant-based diet? Incorporate yoga into your daily rituals? Here’s a cookbook to inspire you along this journey!
For the Love of Food and Yoga: A Celebration of Mindful Eating and Being explores how the inner awareness we develop on our yoga mats fuels our bodies, minds and overall states of wellbeing, which subsequently influences our lifestyles and food experiences. Liz Price-Kellogg and Kristen Taylor have a winner with this visually rich blend of 100 “YogiBites” – a collection of time-tested yoga teachings – paired with 100 original vegetarian, vegan, or raw recipes. “We believe the lessons that are integral to the practice of yoga – mindfulness, presence, intention, gratitude and joy – are also present in the practices of living, cooking, and eating well.”
The first two recipes I made are now weekly favorites: Conscious Chicks (3 recipes for for roasted garbanzo beans) and Yum, Yum, Yum (a creative version of a light honey mustard dressing – it is Yum!).
Ashtanga yoga instructor, David Swenson: “Enjoy your journey through the book. You are sure to come out the other end with not only some great recipes and a satisfied palate, but potentially new insights and awareness of the true meaning of Yoga as Union or Balance within all realms of life.”
